Instruction by Lacey - Class Descriptions
Tribal Fusion Fundamentals: (Beginning Tribal Fusion) Focuses
on the basic tribal technique with intensive isolations and
influences of hip hop, modern dance and flamenco.
Concepts: (Intermediate Tribal Fusion) Stylistic and
artistic choices are approached as we add the concepts
of movement, layering and expression in a mini-workshop
approach, including pop/lock, slinky/slow, etc. Fusion
Fundamentals is a prerequisite.
Stylizations: (Advanced Tribal Fusion) Advanced technique
utilizing drilling exercises to develop your own personal
style in tribal fusion. Fusion Fundamentals is a prerequisite.
Concepts is highly encouraged.
Tribal Style Level I: (Beginning
Tribal Style) Fundamental
tribal technique including families of movement such
as Ghawazee, Arabic and Shimmy. Florida Tribal Dance
Improv methods includes FatChance Bellydance and Gypsy
Caravan formats.
Level II: (Intermediate Tribal Style) Students concentrate
on developing improv skills in group formations including
transitions and continued technique. Zills are required.
Level I is a prerequisite.
Level III: (Advanced Tribal Style) Practical
application of technique learned in Level I & II are drilled
in multiple formations to increase student confidence
in an improv setting. Advanced concepts include fades,
double lead, and varying zill rhythms. Level I & II
are prerequisites.
Dancing with Props: A new class
focusing on how props are used in our tribal dance style.
The twelve weeks
of this course are split between learning technique with
zills, sword, basket, tray and veil. All level students
are welcome.
Drills Drills Drills: Get Ready
to sweat in our Fast and Furious Drills Class! This class
is developed to
create muscle memory through intese drilling of technique
and combos. Open to all levels.
