Frequently Asked Questions

How much are classes?
Drop in classes are $12 for each 1hr class. 45min classes are $10 for drop ins. We also offer savings packages for those that would like to save. We offer 6 classes for $60 and 12 classes for $110. These packages never expire and can be used for any Florida Tribal Dance class.

I don't have any dance experience. Can I still learn this?

YES! All of our classes at Florida Tribal Dance are designed for the beginner in mind. Whether you are looking just for a good workout or you are interested in learning a specific form, all are welcome regardless of your level.

Do I have to pay in advance? Yes. Payment is taken before each class. We accept cash, checks, credit. You can try one class for just $12 to see if you like it! (but we know you will!)

What do I wear to class? We recommend something comfortable that you feel free to move in for example yoga pants and a tank top. Most classes will work up a sweat. If you have a scarf for the hips that is wonderful but not required.

What do I wear on my feet? Nothing! Bellydance is generally performed with bare feet. However, socks or any soft soled dance shoe are accepted.

How do I know what class to attend?
New and Beginning students are advised to take a Level 1 or any of our open level fitness classes.

Do we need to bring anything to class? Bottled water and a towel are wonderful.

Can I watch a class first to see if I like it?
We find that the best way to experience a class is to try it. You can take one class with no obligation to stay with us so go ahead and try it! You might just love it!

Do you offer opportunities to perform?
Yes! We have several opportunities throughout the year to perform. We offer choreography classes to our students that have gone through at least our Level I class the chance to learn a choreography and perform in a community setting. We also host several informal Haflas or "parties" throughout the year that is open to performances. Also every spring we put on our Tribal Garden Gala and all students are given a chance to perform in a student choreography.

Do I need to enroll in classes?
No need to enroll just arrive a few minutes early to class to fill out a release form and pay for class.
